Gratitude, they say, is memory of the heart! That being so, we must confess that our hearts are full. The brethren of South India have been truly gracious, by registering in large numbers and taking time off to attend this RGL Meet with families.
When the decision of holding the RGL Half Yearly Meet at Vijayawada was first conveyed to us by the Regional Grand Lodge, we were all happy that Vijayawada is once again holding the RGL Meeting after a gap of twenty five years, but at the same time we were aware of the gigantic task for organizing this event.
Then, a meeting was organized for all the brethren of Vijayawada when the brethren present could be seen discussing animatedly whatever they had in mind. Idea after idea was tossed, discussed, considered and either accepted or dismissed. While there were arguments, disagreements, disappointments on some issues, there was unanimity, appreciation and acceptance on others. The brethren elected us to be the Organizing Secretaries to shoulder the responsibility of organizing this mega event, and W.Bro. AV Kutumba Rao, Worshipful Master of Lodge Goddess Kanakadurga No. 331 as the Treasurer. Various committees and sub-committees were then formed. We, along with the other brethren tried our best to organize this event. We will be failing in our duty if we do not thank the invaluable support of the Conveners of all the sub-committees and W.Bro. P. Vijaya Kumar in bringing out the Souvenir.
One thing is for sure, that without the cooperation of all of YOU, the task would have been impossible. Our RGM, R.W.Bro. Dr. B. Biswakumar was always there to fall back upon, like a rock. Our senior brethren shared their wisdom, and our junior brethren were willing to reach the sky. The build-up to the event was, in short, electrifying. We are indeed extremely thankful to every brother who registered and attended.
While the success of this Meet is definitely attributable to the excellent team work, we, the Organizing Secretaries take the entire responsibility for any lapses, and seek your pardon for the same. We wish all those attending this Meet the very best in their lives.

I am very happy that the Brethren of Vijayawada have come forward to host this half-yearly meeting.
Masonry is deep-rooted in this Temple city for very many decades and the commitment of the Brethren for the propagation of the ideals of Freemasonry and their practice of its principles and tenets are well-known. The hospitality of the Brethren of this city is second to none and as such, the visiting Brethren will, I am confident, go back home with pleasant memories. The warmth and the large-heartedness of the people of Andhra Pradesh and more specifically of the Brethren of this area will, I hope, make the visitors from various parts of our region and from elsewhere cherish the memories of their sojourn amidst us during this half-yearly convocations.
I wish the function all success.
May the GAOTU bless all the members of the Fraternity.

It is quite appropriate that Freemasons of the Southern Region are meeting on the banks of River Krishna at the abode of Goddess Kanaka Durga.
Both have invaluable lessons for us as Freemasons.
The river symbolizes knowledge. But merely standing on the bank of a river is of no use. If we need to drink the water of the river, we need to bend! Similarly, Freemasonry is a River of Knowledge; But of no avail unless we bend and make an effort to use what it has to offer the seeker.
“Durga” means one who is difficult to approach or difficult to know. Being the totality of Gods, she is naturally difficult to approach or to know. However, as the mother of the universe she is the personification of LOVE – an attribute that should really be dear to Freemasons.
May the river Krishna inspire the Freemasons meeting here to bend and taste the water of knowledge and may the love of Goddess Kanaka Durga motivate the brethren to share their love with each other.
